Thanks for you interest in consigning your harp with us!

We're always happy to help folks rehome their harps – that's where the “Sanctuary” part of this endeavor really takes form!  We try to offer the best version of each instrument in our care to the new owner, and we find that making sure harps are in good condition and highly playable helps them sell much faster.

Here's how consigning with us works:

We ask for 20% commission on sales, and we work hard to land on a sales price that is fair both to the consignor and the purchaser, based on our ongoing market research.  We make sure that the consignor is comfortable with our asking price before listing the harp.

If a harp is in good shape structurally, but needs basic maintenance such as restringing or regulation, or needs cosmetic work on scratches or dings, we can provide these services for you at a rate of $55/hour plus materials.  We deduct any work that your harp may have needed from the consignor's end only after the harp has sold.  We make sure that you sign off on any work before we do it, so you don't have any unexpected costs.

All harps that are consigned with us are advertised on multiple websites and social media forums.  If you'd like, Elizabeth will also make a videos of her playing your harp available on a variety of platforms, so potential buyers can see it in action.

A few conditions to consigning

We will only take instruments that we believe to be structurally sound.  If you have a harp that has structural issues, you may be able to sell it to our technician directly, either for parts or as a rebuild project, but we can't take it for consignment.

We only sell harps from reputable makers.  We don't sell harps by Roosebeck or Mid-East music as they tend to not meet our quality standards.

We only sell harps in-person.  At this time we're too weary of scams, and too concerned with potential damage from shipping, to offer shipping services.  That said, if you would like to ship a harp to us for consignment at your expense, we're happy to list it for you.  We can view it online before you send it to us to make sure it meets our criteria for consignment.

Thanks again for you interest!  If you have any questions about consigning you harp, please feel free to get in touch via the contact page on this site.
